One of the most important things in a wood working shop are the tools. I have not listed all of my tools but rather the ones that I have discovered to be essential to the work that I do. I am sure this list will grow over time but for now this is my collection. If you have any questions about the tools I use please feel free to subscribe to my YouTube Channel and Like my Facebook Page and I will be able to answer your questions.
I did a ton of research and I decided to purchase the Grizzly G1023RLWX - 10" 5 HP 240V Cabinet Left-Tilting Table Saw because it had more horse power than any other table saw I was looking for in its class. The second runner up was the Jet Proshop Tablesaw with Wings and Riving Knife 708494K JPS-10TS, Cast Iron Legs. I am happy with my decision and absolutely love my Grizzly table saw and would recommend it to anyone looking for one.
This was one of the easiest purchases that I made. I simply loved Bosch's design on the extension arm. I originally was looking at the 10in but I was able to find the 12in on sale for the same price and I couldn't resist the deal. I am so glad I got the Bosch GCM12SD 120-Volt 12-Inch DB Glide Miter Saw. I would totally recommend the 12in over the 10in, you get so much more versatility out of the tool.
I grew up with Craftsman tools but I don't think they make them the way they used to. I am not saying they are bad, but rather they are not the same quality as they once were. I knew I wanted a well made and stable router for my workshop and I found that the Bosch 1617EVSPK was the best router for me because it came with aPlunge and Fixed Base Variable Speed Router Kit with 1/4-Inch and 1/2-Inch Collets.
I simply love this tool. My favorite thing about this router is that it is easy to switch components and parts out for different types of projects. Bosch does a great job in giving you the tools you need in the kit. They also make some great attachments. I would recommend getting the Bosch RA1126 Quick Change Template Guide Adapter, this is great for making precision cuts and routs.
Bosch Router Table
I like the size of this router table. I didn't want anything big to take up shop space. It is well made and sturdy. I secured mine to a custom table so it would be a the height I needed. You can purchase it on Amazon "Bosch Router Table".
DEWALT DCV581H Vacuum
I believe everyone needs a small DEWALT DCV581H 18/20-Volt MAX Cordless/Corded Wet-Dry Vacuum. This works great for cleaning up after home DIY projects. It is small and easy to use. I like the fact it has a corded option as well. This is great because if your battery dies on you, you always have a second option. I also use it for leaning the kids mess in the mini van and home stairs.
Dewalt 20V Drill
I did so much research on drills, I almost went insane. I came to the conclusion that the DEWALT DCK281D2 20V Max XR Lithium Ion Brushless Compact Drill/Driver & Impact Driver Combo Kit is the best drill on the market for the price. I absolutely love this drill. I found that it is comfortable to hold in your hand and work with for extended periods of time. The batteries hold their charge extremely well. I have not had any performance issues or complaints about this tool.
Wet Dry Vacuum
I heard a lot online about Cyclones and how you should get one for your shop. I have to be honest I was skeptical of their promises but now that I have one I would say it is a must have...it is amazing! It extrapolates about 90%-95% of the dust. I found that the Clear Vue Cyclone model CV06 Mini System is perfect for my shop. They are popular, so if they are out of stock be patient, it is worth waiting for it.
Nail Gun Kit
I simply needed a reliable and affordable nail gun kit. I found that the Freeman Pneumatics P4FNCB Nailer Combo Kit has been great for what I need to use it for. There are times I wish I had a better set with more advanced features that allowed me to dial in the air pressure but for what I do in my shop the Freeman Nailer Combo Kit works great and is priced really well. I have had no issues with these tools and would recommend them to anyone doing woodworking or DIY home projects
